Celebration Friday – The Value of Friends
It’s Celebration Friday, and here is the official Celebration Article. Today I want to celebrate friends. Not the casual acquaintances we sometimes claim as friends. I mean “real” friends. The type of friends that would take a bullet for you…follow you anywhere…allow you to be your nutty quirky self without judging you sort of friends.
They are a rare in deed and worth their weight in gold. If you’re lucky, you have a friend like this in your life. If your’re extremely lucky you may have two or three. Take a moment to acknowledge, appreciate, and celebrate their existance in your life.
When we are with this type of friend it is easy to simply be, be centered in our hearts, be joyful, be playful. In challenging times we may choose to put on a brave front and say “everything is ok”, with our true friends we can simply be, be vulnerable, be weary, lean on them and know that they are there.
If you don’t have this type of friend in your life, it is most likely because you have not been this kind of friend. The only reason I can think of that you would not be this type of friend is because of a subconscious belief that you are not worthy of this type of friendship.
Let me simply say that you are worthy. Regardless of what anyone may have told, you are worthy of having great friendships in your life. So I encourage yourself to give yourself permission to start being that type of friend that we are celebrating today, and before you know it you will a friend like that to celebrate too.
